Lauren Burns is a qualified naturopath, nutritionist and herbalist, she attained a Bachelor of Health Science and was awarded the Australian Natural Therapists Association Bursary Award for one of her final research pieces. She has always been passionate about food, nutrition and holistic health. Throughout her elite sporting career Lauren combined sports science with naturopathic principles to assist her in being strong and energetic to achieve Olympic success.

Her passion is food as medicine, using her knowledge of wholefoods and their impact on the body to achieve optimum health and vitality, optimize energy levels and assist in changing both chronic and acute health conditions. She is a passionate cook and has a large repertoire of recipes and skills to provide inspiration for clients, thus optimizing compliance and patient outcomes. As a mother of two, she has a particular interest in children’s health and nutrition, especially the challenges of ‘fussy eaters’.

Lauren’s enthusiasm for health and nutrition, and her respect for the human body and the mechanisms that govern it, drew her to become a naturopath.  She is committed to staying abreast with current evidence based research by way of seminars, webinars and courses. She is currently tutoring at Endeavour College of Natural Medicine and practicing at Sentient Being in Eltham.

Lauren takes great care in looking after her patients on an individual basis, tailoring each consultation and therapeutic strategy for each person, their needs, pace and phase of life. Her approach is to assist patients in gaining an understanding of their body, how best to take care of it, improve vitality and well-being and thus empowering them with knowledge and life skills to apply to daily life.
